Yellow City Street Food officially began when Husband-Wife team, Scott & Rin Buchanan, began selling gourmet tacos to the bar crowds in early 2013. A month later (4/20/13), they opened a tiny drive-thru spot in downtown Amarillo (they often comically referred to as the "shack"). Not long after opening the drive-thru, their best friend, Elliott Crews (rest in power), joined the YC team, and the team was complete.
After 3 yrs, they experienced a rapid growth in popularity, making it imperative for Yellow City to expand. So, in 2016, Yellow City Street Food relocated to Wolflin Ave, incorporating a craft beer program to pair with their craft food.
They briefly ventured into a building/owning a 2nd restaurant/brewery downtown, but eventually decided to return their sole focus to their original baby, YCSF.

Every year, the Texas Restaurant Association hosts Restaurant Roundup in Amarillo, Tx- where 4 local Chefs are picked to compete live for the title Top Chef Amarillo. The contestants are given secret ingredients & a time limit in each round. We are so proud to say that our very own Chef Scott B took home this award for 2019!
Since then, you'll often see his face on the judging panel at these competitions. He's always honored to meet other local/badass chefs, provide his expertise/feedback, and help award well-deserved talent.

On Food Paradise, Route 66! Grateful for the recognition.
