We are proudly Chef Owned! Chef Scott Buchanan creates with an intensity. His food is anything but boring. He enjoys creating an experience, & pulling people from comfort zones. Whether it's through Fun Street Food or Upscale Multi-Course Dinners. With over 20 yrs experience working with Michelin Star & classically trained Chefs, Scott's passion for food is immeasurable.
Yellow City Street Food officially began when Husband-Wife team, Scott & Rin Buchanan, began selling gourmet tacos to the bar crowds in early 2013. A month later (4/20/13), they opened a tiny drive-thru spot in downtown Amarillo (they often comically refer to this spot as the "shack"). Not long after opening the drive-thru, their best friend, Elliott Crews (rest in power, dear friend), joined the YC team, and the team was complete.
After 3 yrs, they experienced a rapid growth in popularity, making it imperative for Yellow City to expand. So, in 2016, Yellow City Street Food relocated to Wolflin Ave, incorporating a craft beer program.
YCSF has since been featured nationally on the Travel Channel, Texas Bucket list, Zagat, Spin Magazine (interview by Les Claypool), & more! (LINKS BELOW!)
We're not only a team, we're a family! Each individual is a strong link in our Yellow City chain.
